PostHeaderIcon Vocaloid song of the week: Po pi po - Miku Hatsune

Okay, so this week it's Miku Hatsune. I promiss I will do one of the boys next week. Really, I promiss. Why did I choose a song, as completly random as this? Well, because it is funny.

Tune:11/20
The song has a funny tune, it's really happy and upbeat, but it keeps repeating itself. When you listen to this song multiple time, it gets boring. ( And believe me, I know, I listen to a song a lot while rating it.)

Lyrics:5/20
Alright, the song is about vegetable juice. The japanese lyrics sound cute (especially when Miku says: Juice, it's so adorable). And the english lyrics? They are fun too. It sounds like an advertisement for vegetable juice. One flaw in the subtitles: I especially recommend GREEN juice. She clearly sings RINGO juice, which is apple juice. AS for rating: This isn't an inteligent lyrics, but it's fun, so it gets 5 points.

Does it fit it's video:10/10
Not only does this song perfectly fit it's video (Come on, the whole video is a comercial) the video is fun. I love it when Meiko, Gakupo, Rin and Len are dressed up as vegetables. Don't they look cute? Aren't they adorable? Yes they are!

Enjoyment:30/50
I really like watching this video, partly for the amazing cosplay. Banana Len is cute, and I love Meiko as a Tomato. And mostly because this is a very addictive song. It just makes you want to sing along: Po pi po pi po po pi po

Verdict:56/100
Alright, this isn't a high rating, but still it is a fun song. Which is why it isn't rated that high, it's only a fun song, and nothing more, nothing less.

PostHeaderIcon Current adicition: Collecting Vocaloid Songs

Yes, I am serious. My new addiction is collecting vocaloid songs. I have downloaded about 150 now, and I am always looking for more. So, as you might know vocaloid/utauloid songs are (sometimes) pretty hard to get. As I want the songs I like on my Ipod (Obviously, I'm a vocaloid fan) I try to get all the songs I like mp3-file.
And of course, I now spend hours and hours looking for nice songs, and downloading them. And I love it. I like listening to many different songs, not only of the popular vocaloids but also of the less known utauloids. I tried to make a downloadable megapack, but it isn't really working at the moment. When I do have one, I'll post the download links here ^^. And if you want any of the songs on the list, or any other song, just leave a comment and I'll try to get the song, and post a download link. Also, if you have the mp3-file of any song I don't have yet, please comment and post a download link, kay? I am now going to post a list of songs I have already, cuz I want to ^^

PostHeaderIcon Vocaloid song of the week: I like you, I love you - Rin Kagamine

Alright, I gotta admit, I don't really like Rin Kagamine. And I'll also admit that that's mainly because I hate it she is being coupled with Len Kagamine, and as is clear by now, I love him. But I listened to this song, and I really did like it. I'm planning to rate this song as well although it should be said I really like it.

Tune:20/20 I love the tune of this song, it's cute, bubbly and completly happy. It jsut gives of all the feelings this song wishes to show. It just fits everything and I adore it, completly. I really can't find anything wrong with the tune, since no matter how many times I listen to it, it really doesn't get boring at all.

Lyrics:19/20 So, the japanese lyrics are very good. They find the tune perfectly, and especially near the end as she gets all stumbly it just fits perfectly. But upon reading the english lyrics I see the lyrics are sometimes a little bit too random. Although the song perfectly shows how a girl trying to confess her love would act, the too-random things will negativly affect my rating. But still, I really think the lyrics are perfect for this song, therefor I give it 19/20.

Does it fit it's video:9/10 The video which is added to the song is great it almost perfectly shows what is sung, and is very cute. I never actually liked Rin's appearance, until I saw this video. I also think this video increases how much you like the song. It lost one point because it's to static, but I'm still thinking maybe I should give it the point anyway ;)

Enjoyment:39/40 I totally love this song. It's super cute, made me think of Rin as a Moe person and it cheers me up every time I listen to it. And believe me, I have listened to it a lot. It's one of the best Rin Kagamine songs I have seen so far. I just love it so much!

Verdict:97/100
Alright, this amazing, cute song get's the highest rating I have given so far. I love it, completly. I really love the video and the song, and watch it a lot and try to song it with her. (I'm awefull) I adore this song and made me like Rin more. Everyone should listen to it.
If you know any other good Rin Kagamine songs or want to sugest a new vocaloid of the week song, please comment, kay? =)

PostHeaderIcon Must have Otaku Item: Body Pillow ~Check

After complaining about the lack of body pillows, or dakimakura's made for girls (so with guys on it) I feel the need to tell you all about my accomplicement of getting myself a dakimakura with guys. And not just guys, with Kaito and Len Kagami. I already spoke about my obsession with them as a couple here, but now I ordered this dakimakura (body pillow) with them on it.
Firstly, I'm very happy that I now have a dakimakura, since I have wanted one for a long time. Also, no I finally have my own Otaku item, yay. Well, I don't really have it yet, I have ordered it. I hope it will arive soon, altough it says anywhere up from 7 to 31 days. I'm not so sure I can wait that long.
I still stand by my first statement, it is to hard to get a dakimakura with a picture of a guy After going trough 1500 pictures of dakimakura (yes, I actually did that, call me crazy but I have a kaito and Len dakimakura) I found three dakimakura with boys on it. Out of which I choose the vocaloid one, of course, since I'm a huge vocaloid fan and a huge Kaito and Len fan. I'm so very happy >////< But I am also kind of nervous, since i have never actually seen one in real life. What if it doesn't look good, what if it isn't nice at all. I'd cry. But I still am so excited and really hope I will get it soon. I am sure it will look good anyway.

PostHeaderIcon Manga Review: Fool's Gold Volume 1

*insert themesong here*
Hello ladies and gentleman, todays episode of manga review will be about: Fools gold volume 1.
Okay, let's stop the tv-show thingy right now.
Fools gold is an original English Manga by Amy Reeder Hadley. I know the titel sounds kind of lame, at that is why I didn't buy this book the moment I saw it. I never even thought of buying it. But when I got home I read this folder about the book and it sounded interesting:
Come on, we all know the truth - most girls are fatally drawn to obnoxious, jerky boys. Upon discovering this harsh reality, Penny forms an underground club to identify these boneheads and cure her girl friends of their addiction to them! But her plan backfires when she is falsely accused of dating the enemy. And it doesn't help that she's falling in love with him!
Because I read that, and thought it sounded interesting, I bought this first volume. Now for my review:

Art:2/20
I know the art is relatively good, but when I read a manga I want it too look like a manga. I think Fool's gold looks to much like an american comic, which it is. I don't like it, since I never really liked american comics. Therefore I only rate it a 2/20

Story:7/30
Even though I really like the concept of the story, there isns't very much that happens in this manga, and everything that does happen seems unlikely, never going to happen. I read fantasy without any problem imagining it, but this just didn;t seem right, at all. Therefore 7/30.

Characters:3/25
The characters are shallow. They don't have that much of a personality, and why people do things is never clear. It might get better in the next volume, but since there is only one other volume I don't think it can get that much better. Everyone in the manga seems to adore Penny, thing she's awesome, but she really isn't, and doesn't really do anything awesome.

Enjoyment:15/25
Even though it wasn't really that much of a manga, I enjoyed reading it. Especially the introduction of Blake halfway trought made up for a great deal of the irritation of the first half. Look, I know I love bad-boys, and that's why this seemes the right manga for me, but it didn't make it's potential come true.

Make me Cry bonus:0/10
This is my bonus section which a manga can get either 0 (didn't make me cry) 5 (made me feel sad) or 10 (made me cry) points. I always reason if a manga can make me cry, the story is credible and the characters are great, so it deserves a bonus. But this manga didn't make me cry so 0 points.

Verdict:27/100
This isn't a very strong manga, like the verdict suggest. Still, it's quite enjoyable, so don't hesitate to read it, no matter what I say!

PostHeaderIcon Moe Factor: Yutaka Kobayakawa

This weeks participant in Moe Factor is Yutaka Kobayakawa from the amazing series: Lucky star.

ALright, let's star the audition:
This moe factor will be like my personal rating on how moe a character is.

Huggability: 28/30
How huggable is our dear Yutaka?
Well, I'd say she is quite huggable. Or rather, look at her face, how can anyone say no to that. She is one of the most huggably characters I have ever seen. I give her a 28/30, since I'm sure she isn't 30/30 hugable, but she comes close, don't you think so?

Strong personality:0/20
Another aspect of moe is the personality, this is why Haruhi is moe. But Yutaka doesn't have a strong personality, but a very weak (Which makes her so cute). Therefore I can't do anything other then give her no points for this factor. Her personality just isn't strong, she even has a weak body in the series itself.

Freak out Factor:10/10

Does this character freak out, and if so, will watchers go like: 'aaaw, how cute' This character certainly freaks out, and when she does she make me go: "aaw how cute." SHe is one of the cutest characters freaking out I have seen. I just adore her when she freaks out even more so then when she doesn't so that's why I give her a full rating on this factor: 10/10

Cuteness:29/30
So, how cute do I think Yutaka is. I don't think she is the cutest character ever. Absolutely not.But she honestly is adorable no matter what she does. That's what's making it hard for me to rate this, since she is cute all the time, but I don't feel like she deserves full rating. Therefor I think I'll go with 29/30 as I think that is fitting (and that's final :p)

Stereo type:7/10
Last question: Is she a stereo type? Many stereo types are considered moe. Now is the question, is she a stereo type. Well,Yutaka is a typical Dandere, a very shy girl. She is very shy, but not shy enough to get full rating. She gets 7/10 for this subject.

Verdict:74/100
Yutaka is a moe person, that's for sure. Therefor, lot's of pictures in this post tp spread the moeness.

PostHeaderIcon Anime song of the week: Konna Ni Chikaku de

ALright in this section, that I plan to do regularly (weekly) I will discus on anime song, and rate it on several aspects.

Today, I will talk about Konna Ni Chikaku De, which is the first ending of the anime: Nodama cantabile. Crystal Kay sings this song.

I will rate this song on several aspects:
-Tune 20/100
-Lyrics 30/100
-Fitting to the anime? 10/100
-Enjoyment 40/100

Tune:15/20
The tune of the song is quite adorable. It's a happy, fun song to listen too and makes me feel happy. But since the song is over 4 minutes if you just listen to the tune it get's quite boring after about 3 minutes. The best part of the tune is, in my opinion, the last 10 seconds or so. I rate this tune 15 out of 20, because of the happiness and the good feel it gives me, and that are positive aspects, but since it gets boring before the song is finished I can't give it higher then this.

Lyrics:27/30
For this subject, I look at how the japanese lyrics sound and the english translation, so I know what it is about. First of, I really love the way the japanese lyrics sounds. Sometimes Crystal Kay sings English and this also fits in perfectly. The english lyrics are, unlike the tune, quite sad actually. The song is about a girl who is in love with her friend, but can't tell him. The lyrics fit the situation perfectly as this would be exactly how I'd feel. I rate it 27 out of 30, since I really love the lyrics in every way. The only minus was the fact that the lyrics are sad and the tune is really happy.

Fitting to the anime: 1/10
Alright, the one big minus to this song is it doesn't really fit the anime. True in the anime Nodame loves Chiaki, but she does tell him, frequently in fact. She keeps buggin him with it ^^ Therefor I can only give the song 1/10. It gets the one point for being about a girl in love with her friend, since Nodame is in love with Chiaki.

Enjoyment:35/40
Personally, I find this the most important part of a song. How much do I enjoy it. Well, I really enjoy listening to this song. Although listening to it to much makes me said, especially when she sings: "You Don't understand, I'm so in lvoe with you." The songs is very emotional and that is one of the reasons I like it so much. Another reason is it is easy to sing. Even the second time I heard it I was able to song a few lines and that increases my enjoyment. All in all, I rate it a 35 out of 40 for being very enjoyable.

Verdict: 78/100
This is a very good song, and it is certainly worth listening to.

PostHeaderIcon Body pillow - Must have Otaku Item

Hello, Another note from me!

Today, I will speak about a must have item for Otaku: The Body Pillow. Okay, I don't completly think of myself as a Otaku, but more as a wanabe-otaku. I love anime more then anything, but I still have social contacts and don't watch anime every free second of the day, nor is it all I talk about. My room isn't completly anime (yet) and I still need lot's and lot's more anime stuff. But I think an Anime Body Pillow is a must have for an Otaku. I admit, I still don't have one... But I'm looking for one I like.
The thing with Anime Body Pillows is that most of them have a picture of a hot girl on it. I know, most people wouldn't really think of that as a problem (I understand that, I'm not completly retarded) But since I'm a girl, I'd rather look at the face of a bishounen then a bishoujo. It would be really nice to go to bed at night, hugging one of my favorite bishies until I fall asleep. I'm sure that would make it more fun for me to go to bed, just to look at his face. *fangirl dream*

I don't really have anything against body pillows of bishoujo. I really do like the 'Little busters' body pillow at the beginning of this story. The girl looks so cute like that, you would really just want to hug her. There is just one teeny-tiny problem. On closer observation (Yes, at first I didn't notice, I had almost bought it, it's totally moe) you see her showing of her panties. Like most body pillows this pillow shows a sexy girl, being sexy and showing of her underwear/body. Which if it's not too much isn't really a problem for me, but I know, for a fact, that people I hang out with, and people like my family, will look weird at me when they see me sleeping with a pillow of a hot girl. And I understand why, honestly I do. But I still want one.
And that is why I've been looking for a bishounen body pillow. Noone will look strange if I sleep with a guy pillow. (What kind of world are we living in, if people will think I'm weird for having a cute girl on my pillow.) But I live in europe, and it's really hard to find body pillows here. Not even anime ones, but normal ones as well. And if I do find them, they are mostly hot girls. So for earlier explained reasons I can't really buy them T-T.
I do believe that when I got one (doesn't matter if it's a girl or a boy) I will buy more and more and more pillow casings. Just looking at them on the internet (right now, actually) makes my otaku-me go: OOOOOOh I want, I want, I want so badly!. They are totally adictive =D
So if anyone sees a relatively cheap, noice body pillow, please let me know, because I'm dying to get one.

PostHeaderIcon Yaoi - it's what keeps us from going out and killing people

I'll be the first to admit I used to dislike yaoi. Actually, I used to really hate it. It isn't that I discriminate gay people, or at least I 'hope I don't, I just wasn't comfortable watching yaoi/shounen ai. Don't worry, this isn't going to be an anti-yaoi post. On the contrary.

My prejudice against yaoi/shounen ai (from now on only reffered to as yaoi, since it takes me to long to keep writing both of them) started to fade away when I started watching anime that was yaoi-like. I started watching princess princess, which was about an all boys-school. To be honest, the whole boy liking boys dressed up as girls freaked me out a bit, but the intresting characters made me keep on watching, and I finished it pretty quick. And that was it, or so I thought.

After a while, I decided I needed to watch a real yaoi anime, for the simple fact that I hadn't. I started watching sukisho, and I enjoyed it, although I have only watched the first two episodes yet. But that still wasn't when I found out I really did like yaoi. I read a yaoi manga, also for the simple fact I hadn't yet read one. I read Wild Rock, a yaoi one-shot, with a very nice story-line and character development. I loved the manga, but still didn't consider myself a yaoi fan.

Then when did I start thinking of myself as a yaoi lover? It started when reading Hands off, a manga series which isn't yaoi. First off all, I love the serie. But secondly the main characters are all boys. So one is really hot, Tatsuki. One of the other main guys is Kotarou. Kotaro looks really girly and is Tatsuki's nephew. They have this love/hate relationship that is amazing and even though Kotarou had a girlfriend during the whole time I read the manga's I wished for them to become a couple. I knew they wouldn't but they would have been an amazing couple, they honestly would.

Since then, I kept liking yaoi couples. For example I love len Kagamine x Kaito. They are vocaloids but they look so good together. And of course Tamaki and Kyouya from Ouran High School Host club. They are really good together, even though I don't like Tamaki. I even make "Yaoi" couples in the crime series I usually watch. ( Flynn and Provenza from the closer <3) And now like watching pictures from emo guys kissing. It's all the power of yaoi!

PostHeaderIcon Tsundere characters. Why do we love them so much?

Tsundere. For people who don't know this phenonmen (Be ashamed of yourself. What kind of otaku are you!?) a tsundere is most of the time a girl who acts all cool, and though, but is very kind on the inside. Tsundere is comes from the words "tsuntsun" and "deredere," meaning "aloof, pointed, morose" and "exhausted, lovestruck" respectively. A tsunderekko (tsundere girl) can express this in one of two ways:

1) She is initially combative/aloof/cold, either towards the protagonist or everybody, and through the course of the story opens up and becomes emotionally vulnerable and loving (basically a personality shift through time).

2) She is combative/aloof/cold on the outside, but secretly she feels very vulnerable and loving (basically she puts up a farce to hide the 'real her').

Escpecially the most recent anime show characters that are Tsundere, or Tsundere like. Many well-liked characters are tsundere's, like for example Kagami Hiiragi, from lucky star or shana from shakugan no shana. But why do we like this characters so much? What is it in these characters that make us relate to them.

I know why I like them. I relate to them myself. No matter what I feel, I keep it in, and get annoyed when people ask me about it, or make me blush. I am tsundere. That is one of the reasons I love tsundere characters. I feel like I'd act the same way, and I can relate to what they feel and do. But that is just why I like them. WHat made them become so popular?

I think Tsundere characters are so popular because they are cute. It is great to see the mean, strict girl go to a crying girl who is sad because she once again got angry at the guy she loved. Many people will relate to that, because a lot of girls and guys just the same, screw up when they talk to their love interest and regret that later. Tsundere characters posses this threat, but greatly enlarged. Anyone cna relate to their feelings of regret and this makes their characters a lot more enjoyable.

Another reason why tsundere's are liked is because they are the characters showing the most emotion. They are most of the time really irritated, anooyed and also violent, but when they have their deredere moments they are just as sweet as they are otherwise violent. By having more emotion the characters are more interesting. And when a character is more interesting they are most of the time also better liked. Complicated characters have more fans then shallow once.

Like many of the other typical anime stereo-types, tsundere are very popular.

I might actually talk about some other stereo-types, if people would like that, and maybe even some more about tsundere but for now, I have finished my talk
